IV Administration<\/strong><\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
– For IV infusion only<\/div>\n
– Allow diluted solution to reach room temperature<\/div>\n
– Use an infusion set with an in-line, low protein-binding filter (pore size: 0.2 micron); compatible filters are polyethersulfone (PES), polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), nylon, and cellulose acetate<\/div>\n
– Infuse over 20 to 50 minute period (may vary depending on total volume being infused) and then flush the IV administration set with NS after the infusion is finished<\/div>\n
– Do not administer as an IV push or bolus and do not infuse concomitantly in the same IV line with other agents<\/div>\n
– Observe patient during and for an appropriate time following infusion.<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n
IV Reconstitution<\/strong><\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
– Remove vial from refrigerator; to minimize foaming, do not shake.<\/div>\n
– Solution is clear to slightly hazy\/opalescent, colorless to slight yellow liquid; proteinaceous particles may be present in the solution that appear translucent to white; do not administer if discolored<\/div>\n
– Withdraw calculated volume from vial and, to minimize foaming, add slowly to 50 mL NS infusion bag<\/div>\n
– Gently invert the bag; do not shake<\/div>\n
– Compatible bags are polyvinylchloride (PVC) or polyolefin<\/div>\n
– The time between preparation and administration should not exceed 16 hours<\/div>\n
– Do not mix with other drugs.<\/div>\n
– Vials are single-use only; discard unused portion.<\/div>\n

– Store intact vials in refrigerator at 2\u00b0C to 8\u00b0C (36\u00b0F to 46\u00b0F)<\/div>\n

IV Infusion Solutions<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n
– After dilution in NS in infusion bag, administer immediately or store in a refrigerator at 2\u00b0C to 8\u00b0C (36\u00b0F to 46\u00b0F) or at room temperature up to 25\u00b0C (77\u00b0F)<\/div>\n
– Protected from light, for up to 16 hours.<\/div>\n
